June Wrap Up

10 books this month! 10! I read so much this month. I don’t really even know how, I wasn’t any less busy. I was just in the mood to plow through books I guess.

Check out my June TBR, I think this is the first time I abided by the list almost completely. I didn’t get to finish Hidden Bodies because it just became available on my overdrive app! I’m currently reading it though so review for that will be up soon!

My month in review:

The Last Star by Rick Yancey

4 MIB Kitties!

I read this at the very beginning of the month and I think I’m still in disbelief. I feel the emotions deep down, but they are dormant… for now.

Pucked by Helena Hunting

3 Pucking Kitties!

My smut fix for the month was the Pucked series. Pucked was a steamy, hilarious, and completely inappropriate and it made me so happy!

Another solid romance with lovable characters. The series carries on with different characters and their love stories.

This was my favorite out of the Pucked series. Randy and Lily were so adorable!

Forever Pucked by Helena Hunting

3 Forever Kitties!

I thought this was going to be a novella length, but no, it is full length! Wrap up to the Pucked series. All the couples get to interact with one another. I still think Lance will get a book so I’ll be looking out for that.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

Pyschological thriller that will have you questioning everyone and everything down to the last moment. Jumping between time, place, and characters keeps you on your toes for the whole ride.

You by Caroline Kepnes

5 INCREDIBLE Kitties!

Completely blown away. Incredible prose and such a unique story line. Kepnes’ debut novel will be something I won’t soon forget. Great characterization and haunting monologues. The strangest thing about this is you end up rooting for the bad guy…

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

3-4 “1986” Kitties!

Rowell makes you believe her. She creates a world of real life situations that will make you question whether this is a true story or purely fiction. I think the story is actually growing on me the more I think about it.

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

3 Assassin Kitties!

Slower than what I wanted it to be, but still a solid installment. I felt the characters growing stronger and the story developing more and more. This was a build up for something much greater to come.

The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell

3 Mysterious Kitties!

Intricate characters, setting, and plot. This book is more of a slow burn than a fast paced thriller. It has a weaving of characters and time, switching between multiple POVs and mixing past and present time frames.

Man, this was a good month. I got another book down in the Throne of Glass series and FINALLY finished The Girls in the Garden ARC from Netgalley. They both have taken me so long to finish. Romance books, psychological thriller, mystery, fantasy, YA & NA. You by Caroline Kepnes was my favorite read of the month and Forever Pucked was my least favorite. I had pretty solid ratings, mostly 3’s and 4’s.

ALSO an awesome thing that happened to me this month… Murphy (Colleen Hoover’s sister) was running a contest in the CoHorts group for a “soundtrack” she made for all of Colleen’s books. You have to guess which song goes to which book. She left out It Ends With Us and the Never, Never series so there’s just 12 to choose from.

&…

I WON A SIGNED COPY OF IT ENDS WITH US BY COLLEEN HOOVER!!! I don’t know if I’ve ever been more excited about a contest win!

I’ll post the list of songs below if y’all wanna play along too.

  1. Kiss Me (Ed Sheeran)
  2. LITOST (X Ambassadors)
  3. All My Mistakes (The Avett Brothers)
  4. All I Want (Kodaline)
  5. Pretty Girl from Michigan (The Avett Brothers)
  6. Acquainted (The Weeknd)
  7. Maybe Someday (Griffin Peterson)
  8. All of the Stars (Ed Sheeran)
  9. Sometime Around Midnight (The Airborne Toxic Event)
  10. Comfort You (Erick Baker)
  11. Love the Way You Lie (Eminem ft. Rihanna
  12. Laundry Room (The Avett Brothers)

  2. You had an amazing reading month!! I’m feeling second hand excitement for you because of you winning It Ends With Us! CoHo is one of my favorite authors. 😀 I haven’t read the ToG series yet, just because it seems never-ending! I want to, though!
