ONE: READING ON THE COUCH OR ON THE BED?
I mostly read at night before going to sleep, so on the bed. Really, I read everywhere though, on the couch, in the car, my desk at work, etc.
TWO: MALE MAIN CHARACTER OR FEMALE MAIN CHARACTER?
I connect way more with female main characters. I love a badass heroine. I also read a ton of romance novels from female lead POV that I’ve fallen in love with. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy a great male MC though.
THREE: SWEET SNACKS OR SALTY SNACKS WHEN READING?
These are so hard! Can I say both? ….No? Alright fine. Salty snacks. My favorite being White Cheddar Cheez-it Grooves. I can eat a whole box of those suckers. Candy is my weakness, however. Also, my snack today is Samoas from the girl scout troop I passed earlier.
FOUR: TRILOGIES OR QUARTETS?
Trilogies all the way. It feels complete with a beginning, middle, and end. I do enjoy stand-alones, trilogies, five part series, but I really don’t like the thought of duologies or quartets. Is that weird? I must have something against even numbers…
FIVE: FIRST PERSON POINT OF VIEW OR THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW?
First person. It feels more personal when you are always inside the main character’s head. You get all of their inner monologue and I feel like I can keep up with everything better.
SIX: READING AT NIGHT OR IN THE MORNING?
At night. I will listen to audible on the drive to work in the morning, but most of my reading is done at night. I am such a night owl, I have to do something to keep myself entertained.
SEVEN: LIBRARIES OR BOOKSTORES?
Bookstores. I love going down each aisle and just looking at the new crisp pages. It just makes me happy to see multiple copies of books. What I run into at the library is having to wait for something I really want and I am such an impatient person.
EIGHT: BOOKS THAT MAKE YOU LAUGH OR MAKE YOU CRY?
Oh man, this is a tough one. It takes a lot to make me cry or laugh out loud at a book. Most of the time, I fall in love with the comedic relief character, but if I connect with a character in a sad book, I can’t seem to shake it. I will say a million times, Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher is my all-time favorite and it made me cry… a lot. Books that make you cry takes this one.
NINE: BLACK BOOK COVERS OR WHITE BOOK COVERS?
Black. I love how the letters stand out against a black book cover.
TEN: CHARACTER-DRIVEN OR PLOT-DRIVEN STORIES?
Character-driven, absolutely. Characters are why I read. If I don’t connect with the characters or feel that they are well developed I usually don’t care what happens to them in the plot.
Eh, four is enough.
If you have already been tagged or don’t feel like doing the tag, I totally understand! 🙂
