In winter we should make facial masks as often as possible. Especially it is important to make moistening masks, minimum twice a week. But if you feel that your skin is dehydrated, then make special masks oftener.
Remember that winter masks have more effect, when they are warm. Try to apply mask on the neck too. Generally neck skin is drier, than facial skin, so moistening masks will be great for it. Here you can find some recipes of winter masks. You can choose one mask and make it permanently for the great effect. But also you can alternate these masks with each other to make your skin glad.
Banana mask. Knead ¼ of banana and add ½ teaspoon your nourishing cream, 3 drops lemon juice and 3 drops olive oil. Mix everything carefully and apply on the face and neck for 15 minutes. Then wash the mask with cool water. This mask moistens skin greatly.
Mask from oatmeal. Mix 2 tablespoons oatmeal with 2 teaspoons honey and 1 tablespoon strong tea. If the mixture is too thick, add some boiled water. Warm the mixture on the steam and apply on the face and neck with thick layer. Cover face with paper napkin and towel. Keep the mask for 20 minutes and then wash the face with cool water. This mask nourishes, moistens skin and gives elasticity back.
Carrot mask. Grate one carrot and mix with 2 tablespoons of potato starch and one yolk. Apply the mask on the face for 15 minutes. Wash with warm water. This mask makes skin color better, smoothes wrinkles and raises resistibility of the skin to unfavorable environmental conditions.
Herbal mask. Mix in 1 teaspoon of dried herbs camomile, plantain and mint. Pour the mixture with 1 glass of boiling water and boil for 10-15 minutes. Filter the decoction and add 1 teaspoon potato starch. Apply the nourishing cream on the face and above it apply warm herbal mixture. Keep the mask for 20 minutes. Wash face with warm water and apply the nourishing cream again.
Protective cream. Mix 1 teaspoon zinc ointment with 1 teaspoon any vegetable oil. Then add 2 teaspoons lanolin cream and mix everything carefully. Save this cream in the cool place. Use protective cream every day instead of your day cream.
Herbal compress for peeled skin. Pour 1 tablespoon dry herbs camomile or mint with 1 glass of boiling water, wait for 10 minutes and then filter the infusion. In this time make the mask. Mix 1 yolk, 1 teaspoon oily vitamin A and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Wet the napkin in hot herbal infusion and put on the face for 2-3 minutes. Then apply the mask for 15-20 minutes and wash face with warm water.
