Dry skin care tips. Part 1.

Dry skin care tipsDry skin has a low level of sebum and can cause premature aging and sensitivity. This skin usually has a parched look caused by its inability to retain moisture. Dry skin often feels irritated and uncomfortable after washing without any moisturizers or skin creams. Dryness is aggravated by wind, extremes of temperature and air-conditioning, all of which cause the skin to flake, chap and feel tight.

Here you can find general recommendations for dry skin care:

- Dry skin needs gentle cleansing and regular massage and generous quantities of oil and moisture. Prefer nondetergent, neutral-pH products for washing. Avoid using any antibacterial soap every day it removes too much skin oil. Avoid highly alkaline soaps and detergents like washing sodas and powders which contain highly alkaline and drying ingredients. Remember that you should always touch your face gently.

- Follow a bath or a shower with a mild application of baby oil. Massage your face with rich moisturizing cream every night before going to bed. It is your daily dry skin care. Be especially careful in the areas surrounding the eyes. Moisturize your skin after cleansing to prevent drying out. Use a liquid moisturizer or facial oil that consists of natural ingredients only.

- Use a back-draft damper (or even a cap of water placed near a radiator) to moisten the air, especially in winter.
