In winter we should make facial masks as often as possible. Especially it is important to make moistening masks, minimum twice a week. But if you feel that your skin is dehydrated, then make special masks oftener.
Remember that winter masks have more effect, when they are warm. Try to apply mask on the neck too. Generally neck skin is drier, than facial skin, so moistening masks will be great for it. Here you can find some recipes of winter masks. You can choose one mask and make it permanently for the great effect. But also you can alternate these masks with each other to make your skin glad.
Banana mask. Knead ¼ of banana and add ½ teaspoon your nourishing cream, 3 drops lemon juice and 3 drops olive oil. Mix everything carefully and apply on the face and neck for 15 minutes. Then wash the mask with cool water. This mask moistens skin greatly.
Mask from oatmeal. Mix 2 tablespoons oatmeal with 2 teaspoons honey and 1 tablespoon strong tea. If the mixture is too thick, add some boiled water. Warm the mixture on the steam and apply on the face and neck with thick layer. Cover face with paper napkin and towel. Keep the mask for 20 minutes and then wash the face with cool water. This mask nourishes, moistens skin and gives elasticity back.
Carrot mask. Grate one carrot and mix with 2 tablespoons of potato starch and one yolk. Apply the mask on the face for 15 minutes. Wash with warm water. This mask makes skin color better, smoothes wrinkles and raises resistibility of the skin to unfavorable environmental conditions.
Herbal mask. Mix in 1 teaspoon of dried herbs camomile, plantain and mint. Pour the mixture with 1 glass of boiling water and boil for 10-15 minutes. Filter the decoction and add 1 teaspoon potato starch. Apply the nourishing cream on the face and above it apply warm herbal mixture. Keep the mask for 20 minutes. Wash face with warm water and apply the nourishing cream again.
Protective cream. Mix 1 teaspoon zinc ointment with 1 teaspoon any vegetable oil. Then add 2 teaspoons lanolin cream and mix everything carefully. Save this cream in the cool place. Use protective cream every day instead of your day cream.
Herbal compress for peeled skin. Pour 1 tablespoon dry herbs camomile or mint with 1 glass of boiling water, wait for 10 minutes and then filter the infusion. In this time make the mask. Mix 1 yolk, 1 teaspoon oily vitamin A and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Wet the napkin in hot herbal infusion and put on the face for 2-3 minutes. Then apply the mask for 15-20 minutes and wash face with warm water.

Protect your skin from winter frosts
Only rich nourishing day cream can protect your skin in winter. But it should be not very thick. If your cream is too thick and it is imbibed slowly, then you should dilute it with any purified vegetable oil.
It is a good way in winter. Cold oppresses the actions of skin oil glands. That’s why it is necessary to use "rich" creams in winter. Read labels of cosmetic means attentively. If you see the note: "For cold weather", then choose this cream. Such creams are also called as "barrier".
As for lips skin care in winter, nourishing balsam and hygienic lipstick are the best of all. If you can’t be limited with these means, then choose "rich" toned lipstick and apply it above the hygienic one.
To nourish and to moisten lips, buy any kids oil and apply it on the lips at night. Also you can apply kids oil above lipstick for additional protection before going in the street. Attention! Do not use vaseline for lips care in winter. It is a mineral oil, which dries skin heavily.
Actually barrier between skin and cold wind is thicker, and then it is better. So don’t forget about foundation cream and powder. Apply foundation cream with wet sponge to make cream layer even. You’d better to use compact powder (but not loose one), because compact powder has oil.

The secrets of skin care in winter
Cold weather, and especially frost with wind, is the serious test for skin. In a fact, our skin withstands very high temperature better than low one. That’s why we need to care about skin more carefully in winter time.
You’d better to refuse from washing at all for the period of strong frosts. Use cosmetic milk, facial washes and tonic for morning skin cleaning. Remember the main thing: all these means must be free of alcohol. Even if you have oily skin, frost has already dried a little your skin. That’s why skin doesn’t need in spirit-based means.
Also you should finish the day right too. Removing make-up and making evening skin cleaning, use light means, which do not destroy skin’s natural protective barrier (this barrier protects skin and also kills bacteria and microbes on it). Such means, for example, are cosmetic milk, any vegetable oil, soft tonics and lotions, which have many moistening components.
The law of winter skin care is skin nourishing in the evening and moistening in the evening. It is so, because moisture, contained in any cosmetic cream, turned into small ice crystals.
There is one secret, which will let you to avoid this law. Put one thin layer of night cream under day moistening cream. In this care moistening components "covered" with day cream layer. They do not contact with air and have enough time to reach inner skin layers before going in the street. Actually, wait for 30 minutes or better an hour after applying a cream on the skin.
