We know about wonderful properties of citrus fruits since ancient times. In ancient China people knew about therapeutic qualities of lemon. They used lemons as a mean for wounds healing, and during pulmonary diseases. In the XI century Avicenna used orange juice for the preparation of medicines. Lemon fruits are considered as indispensable remedy for many dangerous diseases in the Arabian countries.
Citrus fruits contains:
- Thiamin (vitamin B1);
- Riboflavin (vitamin B2);
- Ascorbic acid (vitamin C);
- Tocopherol (vitamin E);
- Nicotinic acid (vitamin PP).
Citrus fruits have been used in cosmetics at all times. Their leaves, flowers and fruits are rich in essential oils. Aromatic oils, produced from the citrus, are added to creams and lotions as a fragrance ingredient. Sure natural citrus masks and tonics will give cheerfulness to your skin and raise your spirit!
Mandarin orange
Like other citrus, mandarin is an ancient citrus culture. Pulp of mandarin orange is about 65% of the fruit weight. Mandarin pulp contains pectin, glycosides, mineral salts, essential oil, vitamins C, D, B1, B2, provitamin A, vitamin D, which has antirachitic effect, and vitamin K, which can provide elasticity of blood vessels.
Interesting! Fresh juice from mandarin slice or peel can heal the skin and nails are affected by fungus. It should be repeatedly rubbed into the affected places.
Natural masks from mandarin for skin care
- Peel one mandarin and squeeze the juice. Rub the facial skin with cotton wetted in the juice. Also you can make the great mask. Wet a thin layer of cotton or cloth from several gauze layers in the juice and put on face and neck for 15-20 minutes. After removing the mask clean the skin with a humid cotton and then dry one. Make this mask 2-3 times a week. One course is 15-20 masks.
- Pound dry tangerine peel into powder and mix 1 teaspoon of this powder with 1 teaspoon of egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of sour cream. Apply the mask on the face and neck for 20 minutes.
- The mask for hair. Take juice of 2 tangerines, add 10 drops of balm oil and 1 tablespoon of dry mustard. Mix everything carefully. Apply the prepared mixture on your hair along the entire length. In 20 minutes wash your head with shampoo.
